Chris Copeland Leaves GroupM to Become Yieldbot President

Agency digital pioneer tapped to further develop leading real-time consumer intent company’s demand-side business

NEW YORK, April 12, 2016  — Yieldbot, the leading marketplace for premium performance media driven by real-time consumer intent, today announced the hire of advertising agency veteran Chris Copeland as President, a newly-created role.  Mr. Copeland will partner with Yieldbot CEO & Co-Founder Jonathan Mendez to grow the company’s revenue stream and relationships with leading marketers and agencies.   Mr. Copeland had joined WPP GroupM in 2000 where he established and led the Search Marketing practice for nine years before being tapped to create GroupM Next.  He steered the growth of this technology incubator dedicated to aiding brands in understanding the consumer adoption of technology and the emergence of new opportunities including emerging platforms like social, mobile and video.

“Chris was the first person in the agency world to integrate Search advertising into cross-channel media planning and buying at GroupM, which he ultimately grew into the largest buyer of Search ads in the world,” said Mr. Mendez.  “Then in his next chapter as head of GroupM Next, he guided big brands through the confusing world of data-driven marketing to derive coherent and effective programs to optimize digital spend.  We are excited about Chris applying his experience and knowledge base to help Yieldbot enhance its ties to major marketers.”
