Platform Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 14, 2014
Last Updated Date: January 31, 2018

Welcome to Yieldbot’s Privacy Policy.  This Privacy Policy applies to Yieldbot’s advertising marketing and analytics platform (the “Platform”).  The Platform provides tools for advertisers to buy, and publishers to sell, advertising inventory.  Advertisers and publishers are our “clients.”

For our privacy practices with respect to the Yieldbot corporate website, please review our Website Privacy Policy.  The terms “Yieldbot,” “we,” “us,” and “our” include Yieldbot, Inc. and our affiliates and subsidiaries.  This Privacy Policy explains how Yieldbot may:

information we obtain through the Platform.

THE PLATFORM COLLECTS ANONYMOUS INFORMATION

No Personally Identifiable Information. We do not collect personally identifiable information through the Platform. We cannot and do not use the collected data to determine any individual’s actual identity.

We do not collect demographic information about you through the Platform, such as your age, gender, income, education level, etc.  However, we may use service providers that assist us in matching anonymized users with particular demographic segments.  In those cases, we do not permanently store any of the correlated demographic information on our servers.

We do not come in contact with, and specifically disclaim any association with, any personally identifiable information collected by our clients from their consumer end users.

Location Information.  We collect and store your location information by inference from other information we collect (for example, your IP address indicates the general geographic region from which you are connecting to the Internet).

Cookies, Automatic Data Collection, and Related Technologies. When you visit one of our clients’ websites, we receive and record information that is generated automatically on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, and from cookies, javascript, and similar technology. The data includes your anonymous website usage statistics such as the website you used to access our client’s website and the URLs of the pages you visit on the client’s website.  Cookies allow us to target advertising to users, evaluate how well ads work and see users’ opt-out choices.

Our advertising cookies exist only while you use a client website and expire when you leave it, so we do not collect information about your use of other websites. We use persistent cookies in the domain of the client’s website that last 30 days for the sole purpose of tracking you as a returning visitor to that client’s website.

We also use technologies, such as cross-domain cookies, in order to correlate user activity across multiple websites and attribute advertisement conversions properly.

If you’d like to opt-out of being served advertising by Yieldbot (and our collection of related information via cookies), please see “Methods of Opting Out of Online Advertising” below.  Please note that, as described below, if you opt-out, we will place a cookie on your browser so that we know you have opted out.

By visiting one of our clients’ websites, you are authorizing us to gather, parse, and retain data related to the provision of the Platform.

HOW YIELDBOT USES YOUR INFORMATION

Internal and Platform-Related Usage. We use the information collected by the Platform for internal and service-related purposes and may provide it to third parties to allow us to facilitate and improve the Platform, including online advertising, analytics, and personalized content services. For example, we use website usage information to personalize advertising displayed to our clients’ website visitors. We may use and retain any data we collect to provide and improve our services.

Online Advertising. The Platform uses anonymous information to provide online advertising services for our clients. For example, the Platform helps a client display online ads on its website based on information collected about your interactions (determined by using an anonymized user ID) with that client’s website(s).  Note that while we do not use information that we collect about you on one website to personalize ads for a different client’s website, we do, in some cases, use third party service providers that correlate anonymized information about users across different online properties so we can show those users relevant advertisements. The collection and use of that third party data is governed by the privacy policy and legal terms of the data collector and the website using the data; it is not governed by Yieldbot.

Aggregate Data. We may aggregate data collected through the Platform and use it for any purpose. For example, we may disclose aggregated information about the use of Platform to clients, prospective investors, and others. Additionally, we may produce website traffic reports for assessing use of Services and for billing purposes. This information cannot be traced back to you personally.

METHODS OF OPTING OUT OF ONLINE ADVERTISING

You may opt out of Yieldbot showing you personalized advertising by clicking here.

Browser Opt-Out. Most browsers allow you to block and delete cookies. If you disable cookies please note that we may be prevented from providing personalized advertisements to you.

Yieldbot Opt-Out. You may also opt-out of Yieldbot showing you personalized advertising here. If you choose to opt out, we will place a Yieldbot opt-out cookie on your web browser. This opt-out will apply to all Yieldbot advertising.  This opt-out cookie applies only to the browser you are using when you opt out. Also, if you delete your cookies, this opt-out cookie will be deleted as well.

YIELDBOT MAY DISCLOSE ANONYMOUS INFORMATION

Yieldbot’s Advertising and Marketing. We do not collect personally identifiable information through the Platform, so we cannot and do not rent, sell, or share such information about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies for their direct marketing purposes.

Clients’ Use. We may share with a client the information the Platform collected about your use and interaction with that client’s website and any online advertisements displayed on that client’s website. We may also share aggregate information that does not identify you with particular clients for billing purposes or as otherwise necessary to provide the Platform.

As Required By Law and Similar Disclosures. We may access, preserve, and disclose your information and/or other account information or content if we believe doing so is required or appropriate to: (i) comply with law enforcement requests and legal process, such as a court order or subpoena; (ii) enforce this Platform Privacy Policy, or other agreements; (iii) respond to your requests; or (iv) protect your, our or others’ rights, property, or safety

During Merger, Sale, or Other Asset Transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing due diligence, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, sale of Yieldbot assets, or transition of service to another provider, the information we collect may be sold or transferred as part of such a transaction as permitted by law and/or contract. The use of your information following any of the foregoing events will be governed by the provisions of the Platform Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information was collected by Yieldbot.
